English Language Proficiency of Science and Mathematics Teachers: A Basis for English Enhancement Program

The study was an attempt to assess the English language proficiency of Mathematics and Science teachers. respondents were 38 teachers 34 from a Higher Education Institution. data gathered using self-constructed test as research instrument. Its validity reliability index discrimination Spearman Brown Prophecy Formula, respectively. As employed quantitative non-experimental design, analysis interpretation made frequency, percent, mean standard deviation, Pearson product-moment coefficient correlation r. variance t-test. Nearly 2 out 5 Teachers master’s degree holders almost same number baccalaureate holders. Both groups found have average level in reading writing skills, but below grammar, specifically subject-verb agreement, preposition, vocabulary. In all these proficiency. Among three those significantly higher than grammar.Teachers with educational attainment, longer teaching experience passed licensure examination general, trichotomized component grammar. output study, enhancement program, focused on grammar developed which can be accessed on-line.
